Chef Jim Gerhardt brings 20 years of award-winning experience in fine dining to Louisville. A graduate of the CIA, he began at Cincinnati’s Maisonette and continued to The Mansion on Turtle Creek, Four Seasons Hotel, and Grand Beach Resort on St. Thomas.
Jim came to The Oakroom at The Seelbach Hotel where he transformed dining winning numerous awards, including Kentucky’s first Five Diamond Award. . The Oakroom was named one of the nation’s “50 Best Hotel Restaurants” by Food & Wine magazine
Jim’s honors include the James Beard Foundation’s “Great Hotel Chefs of America”. He returned to the Beard House three times and was invited to the Utah Winter Olympics as a JBF chef and nominated for “Best Chef in the Southeast” by the Foundation.
He was lead chef for “The Great Chefs Dinner” in Baltimore, following luminaries such as Perrier, Palladin and Forgione.
A member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs, Gerhardt is a National Pork Council Celebrated Chef. TV experience includes the Food Network, Travel Channel, History Channel, CBS, and “Secrets of Louisville Chefs”. Publications include Southern Living, Food & Wine, Southwest Spirits magazines, Wine Spectator and The Courier-Journal.
